Svet Tisoč in ene noči
The Thousand and One Nights is a world of frame narratives, tales within tales, disguises, merchants, marvels, and court intrigue. The collection is not a single book with one definitive form, but a long tradition of storytelling and copying.
Kako smo pripravili besedila
We have editorially divided the Arabic source used here into 244 titled narrative units. A single night is not the same as a story: one story may span several nights, while others are nested within one another. The Slovenian translations follow the Arabic chapters and are directly linked to them.
Vir, izdaja in pravice
The working document was prepared from Hindawi’s six-part Arabic digital edition. The exact print edition on which it was based and the permanent links to all six downloaded files were not recorded in the working source. The old Arabic texts are in the public domain, but until the underlying edition and the licence for this particular digitisation have been verified, we do not yet consider the bibliographic details of this source fully resolved.
