Modrost Pančatantre
The Panchatantra is an Indian collection of wisdom tales in which animals, rulers, and advisers reveal political shrewdness, cunning, friendship, and the consequences of rash decisions. Many of its stories have travelled through Persian, Arabic, and European adaptations.
Kako smo pripravili besedila
The current 32 chapters represent a provisional division of the five books into larger sections, not the canonical number of tales in the Panchatantra. In further editing, the frame narrative should be distinguished from the embedded stories. The Slovenian translation is based on a normalized Sanskrit text, not on poor OCR output or an existing translation into another language.
Vir, izdaja in pravice
The electronic Sanskrit edition from GRETIL has been used; the link is also included in the draft chapters. The ancient work is in the public domain, but GRETIL brings together transcriptions of varying origins and quality, so the terms governing this particular transcription must be checked before it is redistributed.
