The Iliad is an ancient Greek epic of wrath, honor, and the war before Troy. In Waltey, we read it as a sequence of powerful narrative scenes: the quarrel between Achilles and Agamemnon, duels, the siege, the loss of a friend, and an encounter with an enemy’s grief.
The Iliad is an ancient Greek epic of wrath, honor, and the war before Troy. In Waltey, we read it as a sequence of powerful narrative scenes: the quarrel between Achilles and Agamemnon, duels, the siege, the loss of a friend, and an encounter with an enemy’s grief.
In Waltey, all 24 books of Homer’s epic serve as 24 reading units. We have removed the scholarly apparatus and line numbering; the Slovenian translations follow the action and names of the Greek original but do not attempt to recreate its hexameter. Each unit is thus a book of the epic, not an independently recorded folktale.
