Prevod

Once upon a time there was a lad who set out to go courting. Among other places, he came to a farm where the people were living in utter poverty; but when the suitor arrived, they naturally wanted to seem well-to-do, as you may imagine. The man had had one new sleeve put on his coat. “Sit down!” he said to the suitor. “But dear me, how dusty it is everywhere!” And he went about rubbing and wiping the benches and tables with his new coat sleeve, keeping his other arm behind his back. His wife had one new shoe, and with it she went about nudging and kicking everything, stools and chairs alike. “There are so many things in the way here—what a mess!” she said. Then they called to their daughter to come and tidy up. She had a new cap, so she poked her head through the doorway and nodded this way and that.

“Well, I can’t be everywhere at once either!” she said. Oh yes, these were well-to-do folk the suitor had come to visit.
