In the seventh month, during the reign of Emperor Yuan of Jin, a cow at the eastern gate of Jinling gave birth to a calf with one body and two heads. Jing Fang’s Commentary on the Book of Changes states: “When a cow bears a calf with two heads and one body, it is a sign that the realm is about to be divided.”
