Prevod
A man who had an only son, a brave young man, dreamed that a lion killed him. Fearing that the dream might come true, the father prepared a pleasant room for his son and painted its walls for his amusement, adorning them with all kinds of animals, among them a lion. Whenever the young man saw the lion, his sorrow grew all the greater. Standing beside it, he said, “You wicked beast! Because of my father’s false dream, that idle vision he saw in his sleep, I have been shut away under guard like a woman. Ah! What shall I do to you now?” With these words to the lion, he reached toward a bramble bush to take some branches and strike it. But a thorn at once pierced his finger, causing a painful inflammation, and he immediately took to his bed, unable to speak. A fever suddenly flared up, and before long the young man died.
The fable shows that whatever is destined to happen to us, we should endure it bravely and not try to outwit it, for we shall not escape it.
