Prevod

The North Wind and the Sun were disputing which was stronger. They agreed to award the victory to whichever of them could make a traveler take off his clothes. The North Wind went first, blowing fiercely; but when the man clutched his clothing tight, he blew harder still. The man, suffering all the more from the cold, put on extra clothing, until the North Wind grew weary and yielded his turn to the Sun. At first the Sun shone gently. Then, as the man took off his extra garments, the Sun steadily increased the heat, until the traveler could bear it no longer and, stripping off his clothes, went to bathe in a flowing river.

The fable shows that persuasion is often more effective than force.
