Prevod

A birdcatcher was setting traps for birds when a lark saw him and asked what he was doing. The man replied that he was building a city, then withdrew a little way. Believing his words, the lark approached, and as he ate the bait, he unwittingly stepped into the snares. The birdcatcher ran up and seized him, whereupon the lark said, “If these are the cities you build, you will not find many to live in them.”

The fable shows that homes and cities alike are most likely to be deserted when those in charge rule harshly.
