Ning Fengzi in petbarvni dim
Ning Fengzi lived in the time of the Yellow Emperor. Tradition holds that he served as the Yellow Emperor’s master potter. A man once visited him and tended his fire. This man could pass in and out of five-colored smoke, and in time he taught Fengzi the art. Fengzi built up a fire and burned himself in it, rising and descending with the smoke. When people examined the ashes, his bones were still there. The people of that time joined in burying him in the mountains north of Ning, and so he came to be known as Ning Fengzi.
