Cvetje, ki napoveduje propad
In the fourth year of Taixing, while Wang Dun was at Wuchang, the ceremonial weapons at his headquarters sprouted blossoms resembling lotus flowers, which withered and fell after five or six days. The interpretation ran: “A commentary on the Book of Changes says, ‘A withered willow puts forth flowers—how can they last?’ Now these unnatural blossoms have sprung from dead wood, and within the precincts of a military headquarters. This signifies that all the grandeur of his retinue and the splendor of his power, like these unnatural blooms, cannot endure.” Wang Dun later met his end as a rebel, and an imperial order was issued to have his corpse subjected to execution.
