A wolf, seeing an enormous dog tethered by a collar, asked, “Who chained you up and fed you until you grew so big?” “A hunter,” the dog replied. “May no wolf who is a friend of mine ever suffer such a fate,” said the wolf, “for the weight of a collar is no better than hunger.” The fable shows that one should not fill one’s belly at the cost of misery.
