Prevod

A dog and a rooster became companions and set out on a journey together. When evening fell, the rooster flew up into a tree to sleep, while the dog lay in a hollow at its roots. During the night, the rooster crowed as usual. A fox heard him and ran over. Standing beneath the tree, she begged him to come down, saying she longed to embrace a creature with so fine a voice. The rooster told her first to wake the doorkeeper, who was sleeping at the roots: once he had opened the door, the rooster would come down. As the fox tried to call the doorkeeper, the dog suddenly sprang out and tore her to pieces.

The fable shows that wise people trick their enemies, when attacked, into confronting those stronger than themselves.
