Prevod
Once the weasels were at war with the mice, routing and killing them. The mice said among themselves, “It is no wonder the weasels defeat us. We have no king, as they do, nor generals to command us in battle. That is why we all suffer and are driven from the field.” At once they held a council and appointed the largest mice as leaders and generals over the rest. Then, having armed themselves and drawn up their ranks once more, they raised the din of battle. When their trumpets sounded, they began to fight the weasels, who utterly defeated the mice and put the wretched creatures to flight. Those who fled without armor slipped at once into cracks in the walls. But their armored leaders, the rulers and generals of the rest, could not squeeze into the holes, and the weasels killed them all.
The fable shows that, for a life free from danger, humble circumstances are better than splendor and worldly glory.
