A potter was making clay birds in his workshop. A donkey passing by, with its driver trailing carelessly behind, poked its head through the little window, knocked over the birds, and smashed the pottery in the workshop. The owner therefore took the donkey driver to court. When people he met asked him what he was being tried for, he replied, “A donkey’s poking its head in.”
