A fox and a monkey were traveling together. As they passed through a burial ground, the monkey said to the fox, “All these dead people were freedmen of my forefathers.” The fox replied, “You have chosen a good moment to lie, for none of those buried here can prove you wrong.” This fable portrays both someone who rightly exposes liars and those who openly pass off falsehood as truth.
