Prevod

A lion came upon a sleeping hare and was about to devour it when he caught sight of a deer passing by. Leaving the hare, he gave chase to the deer. The hare, roused by the noise, sprang up and fled. After pursuing the deer for a long time without being able to catch it, the lion returned to the hare. Finding that it too had escaped, he said, “I have only got what I deserved: I let go of the meal within my grasp in the hope of a greater one.” So it is with some people: not content with modest gains, they unwittingly lose even what they already have.
