A raven, finding no food, spotted a snake sleeping in a sunny place, swooped down, and seized it. But the snake turned and bit him. As he lay dying, the raven said, “Wretched fool that I am! What a lucky find this was—to be the death of me!” This fable might be told of a man who found a treasure and thereby put his very life in danger.
