A goat was eating the tender shoots of a vine just as it began to bud. The vine said to him, “Why do you harm me? Is there no grass? Yet when you are sacrificed, I shall provide all the wine they need.” The fable rebukes those who are ungrateful and seek to take advantage of their friends.
