A farmer found an eagle caught in a trap and, admiring its beauty, set it free. The eagle, in turn, showed its gratitude. Seeing the farmer sitting beneath a crumbling wall, it swooped down and snatched the cap from his head with its talons. The farmer sprang up and gave chase, and the eagle dropped the cap. When he picked it up and returned, he found that the wall had collapsed where he had been sitting, and he marveled at the eagle’s repayment.

Those who have received kindness should return it.
