Prevod

A sculptor had carved a marble Hermes and put it up for sale. Two men wished to buy it: one for a tombstone, since his son had recently died, the other to set up the carving as a god. It was late, and the sculptor had not yet sold it, so he agreed to show it to them when they returned at dawn. Then the sculptor fell asleep and saw Hermes himself standing at the gates of dreams, saying, “My fate now hangs in your balance: you will make me either a dead man or a god.”
