Dvoglavi otrok kot zlovešče znamenje

During the reign of Emperor Ling, a woman outside Luoyang’s Upper West Gate gave birth to a child with two heads, separate shoulders, and a shared chest, both heads facing forward. It was deemed an ill omen, and the child was abandoned as soon as it was born. Thereafter, the imperial court fell into confusion, power passed into private hands, and the distinction between ruler and subject dissolved—all manifestations of the portent of the two heads. Later, Dong Zhuo slew the empress dowager, branding her unfilial. He deposed the Son of Heaven and later had him killed as well. Since the founding of the Han, no calamity had surpassed this.
