Prevod

During the reign of Emperor Ai, a tree lay fallen in Lingling. It measured one zhang and six chi in girth and ten zhang and seven chi in length. The local people cut away more than nine chi from its base, and the whole tree was withered. In the third month, it suddenly stood upright again in its original place. Jing Fang’s Commentary on the Book of Changes says: “When righteousness is forsaken and licentiousness indulged, the portent is a severed trunk joining itself together again. When an imperial consort or empress monopolizes power, trees fall and rise again; though severed and withered, they return to life.”
