Waltey

Prevod

A wild ass saw a donkey carrying a heavy load and mocked him for his servitude. “How fortunate I am,” he said, “to live freely and without toil, finding my own pasture in the mountains! You, on the other hand, depend on someone else for your food and are constantly subjected to drudgery and beatings.” Just then a lion appeared. He kept away from the donkey, since the driver was with him, but sprang fiercely upon the wild ass, who was alone, and devoured him.

The fable shows that the unruly and stubborn, who follow their own will and think they need no one’s help, soon come to ruin.
