Prevod

They say that one of the philosophers of old, visiting Queen Arsinoe as she mourned her son, addressed her with this tale: “When Zeus was distributing honors among the divinities, Grief happened to be absent and arrived only after the honors had been allotted. Grief demanded an honor of his own, but Zeus was at a loss, since all the honors had already been bestowed on the others. So he granted Grief those paid to the dead: tears and sorrow. Now, just as the other divinities love those who honor them, so too does Grief. If you refuse him honor, my lady, he will not come near you. But if you diligently honor him with the tributes he has been granted—sorrow and lamentation—he will love you and will always furnish you with some occasion to go on honoring him.”
