Prevod

An old woman suffering from an eye ailment engaged a physician to treat her for a fee. Whenever he came to apply his ointment, he would steal one of her household belongings while her eyes were closed. Once he had carried everything off and cured her as well, he demanded the agreed payment. When she refused to pay, he brought her before the magistrates. She said that she had promised him his fee if he restored her sight, but that her condition was now worse than before. “For then,” she said, “I could see all the belongings in my house, but now I cannot see a single one.” Thus wicked people, through their greed, unwittingly bring evidence against themselves.
