Prevod

Some young courtiers fond of mockery gathered and went to put this holy man to the test. Finding him most venerable in appearance, they asked, “How many years has it been since you gave up grain?” “I have abstained since my youth,” he replied, “so it has now been more than fifty years.” Hearing this, one of the courtiers said, “What can the dung of a man who eats no grain be like? Surely it must differ from an ordinary man’s. Come, let us go and see.” Two or three went together to look, and found a great heap of dung such as a grain-eater would leave. Suspicious, they said, “While the holy man is out, let us look beneath the place where he sits.” They lifted the mat and found a shallow hollow dug in the earth, with a cloth sack of rice hidden in it. At this the young courtiers clapped their hands and shouted, “The grain-shitting saint! The grain-shitting saint!” Amid their jeers and laughter, he fled. After that, no one knew where he had gone, and he was never seen again, or so the story goes.
