O izvirniku
Ezopove basni

Netopir, robida in galeb
A bat, a bramble, and a cormorant agreed to form a partnership and go into trade. The bat borrowed money and put it into their common fund, the bramble contributed clothing, and the cormorant supplied the ship. But a violent storm arose and capsized the vessel. They lost everything, though they themselves reached land safely. Ever since then, the cormorant has dived to the bottom in search of the ship, hoping one day to find it. The bat, afraid of its creditors, stays out of sight by day and goes out to feed at night. And the bramble, still searching for its clothing, catches at the garments of passersby, hoping to recognize its own.
The fable shows that we take the greatest pains over things in which we have failed before.
