Prevod

Dirges are the music of a household in mourning, sung in chorus by those who draw the ropes of the funeral bier. There are two dirges, “Dew on the Shallots” and “Haoli,” composed by the followers of Tian Heng of the Han dynasty. When Heng took his own life, his followers grieved for him and sang mournfully of how human life, like dew upon the shallots, soon fades and vanishes, and how, after death, the soul returns to Haoli. Thus the two songs came to be.
