Ping Changsheng lived in Gucheng Township, though no one knew where he had come from. He died and returned to life several times, but people of the day did not believe it. Later, a great flood struck, harming many people. Ping was on Mount Quemen, calling out at the top of his voice, “Ping Changsheng is here!” He said, “It will rain again, but the floodwaters will surely subside within five days.” When the waters receded, people climbed the mountain to seek him out and offer him worship, but found only his clothes, staff, and leather belt. Several decades later, he appeared again as a gatekeeper at the market in Huayin.
