Prevod

A man once saw a ship sink with all the men aboard and declared that the gods judged unjustly. “Because of one impious man,” he said, “the innocent have perished too.” As he spoke, he happened to be standing in a place where there were many ants, and one of them bit him. Though only one had bitten him, he trampled them all. Hermes appeared beside him and struck him with his staff, saying, “So you cannot bear to have the gods judge as you yourself have judged the ants?” The fable teaches us not to find fault with God’s unfathomable dealings with humankind, even if they seem unjust to the ignorant.
