Prevod

Once some foxes gathered by the River Maeander, wishing to drink from it. But the water rushed along so swiftly that, though they urged one another on, none dared venture in. Then one of them stepped forward, belittling the others and mocking their cowardice. Declaring herself braver than the rest, she boldly leaped into the water. When the current swept her out into midstream, the others, standing on the riverbank, called to her, “Do not leave us! Turn back and show us where we can go in and drink safely.” As she was carried away, she replied, “I have a message for Miletus, and I want to deliver it there. On my way back, I will show you.” The fable is for those who bring danger upon themselves through boasting.
