In Buqi County under the Han stood Guzhu City, once the domain of the lord of Guzhu. In the first year of the Guanghe era of Emperor Ling’s reign, a man from Liaoxi saw a coffin floating in the Liao River and was about to hack it open. A voice from within said, “I am Boyi’s younger brother, the lord of Guzhu. The sea has damaged my inner and outer coffins, leaving me to drift upon the waters. Why would you hack at me?” Frightened, the man dared not strike it. A shrine was then built for the lord, and sacrifices were offered to him. Any officials or commoners who wished to open the coffin and look inside died without having been ill.
