In the Song period, Feng Yi of Hongnong was a native of Dishou in Tong Township, Huayin. On the first geng day of the eighth month, he drowned while crossing the Yellow River. The Emperor of Heaven appointed him Lord of the River. The Book of the Five Elements also says: “The Lord of the River died on a gengchen day. On that day, one must not fit out a boat for a long voyage, lest one drown and never return.”
