A boy was once bathing in a river when he nearly drowned. Seeing a traveler, he called to him for help, but the man began scolding him for his recklessness. The boy said to him, “Help me now, and scold me later, once I am safe.” The moral of the fable is this: “Do not blame, but show mercy.”
