A man and a lion fell into an argument. The man declared that the human race was superior, while the lion claimed the advantage for his own kind. As they disputed which was stronger, the man offered as proof a sculpture depicting a lion being subdued by a man. The lion said to him, “If we too had sculptors among us, you would see more men overcome by lions than lions overcome by men.” Whoever argues fairly on equal terms will not fail to win.
