Prevod
At the beginning of the Taishi era under Emperor Wu of Jin, garments were narrow above and full below, and everyone wore them low at the waist. This was a sign of a weakening sovereign and unrestrained ministers. By the end of the Yuankang era, women were wearing their sleeveless under-vests on the outside, over their cross-collared robes. Thus what belonged within had come without. Carriage makers prized lightness and delicacy above all, frequently changing their designs and trimming them with white bamboo strips. These bore traces of the funeral carriages of antiquity—an omen of the calamities that would befall Jin.
