Prevod

A wolf once snatched a lamb from a flock and was carrying it off to his own lair when a lion suddenly crossed his path and took the lamb from him. Standing at a safe distance, the wolf said to him, “Why, my lord, have you taken this from me? Why do you not observe the ancient laws, which forbid the mighty to use their strength for oppression and bid them always defend the helpless?” The lion laughed and replied, “And you, wolf, would have had a rightful claim to it—if one of your friends had given it to you.” The fable is aimed at greedy men and robbers who find fault with one another.
