During the Han dynasty, Liu Qi, magistrate of Yangxian, once said, “When I die, I shall become a god.” One evening, he became drunk and died without having been ill. Amid wind and rain, his coffin vanished. That night, the sound of thousands of people shouting was heard on Mount Jing. When the villagers went to look, they found that the coffin had already been buried beneath a mound. The mountain was accordingly renamed Junshan, and a shrine was built there for his worship.
