Prevod
A fisherman cast his net and hauled in a small sprat. She begged him to let her go for now, since she was so small, and catch her later, when she had grown and would be worth more to him. But the fisherman said, “I would be a great fool to give up the profit I have in hand and chase an uncertain hope.” The fable shows that a gain in hand, however small, is preferable to an expected gain, however great.
