In the early years of the Taixing era, there was a woman whose genitals were on her belly, just below her navel. She came from the Central Plains to Jiangdong. She was lustful by nature but bore no children. There was also a woman whose genitals were on her head. She lived in Yangzhou and was likewise lustful by nature. Jing Fang’s Portents of the Changes says: “When a child is born with its genitals on its head, great turmoil will engulf the realm. If they are on the belly, troubles will beset the realm. If they are on the back, the realm will be left without an heir.”
