Besedilo

Lev in osel

A lion and an ass agreed to hunt together and set out. They came to a cave where there were wild goats. The lion stood at the entrance, watching for them to come out, while the ass went inside and drove them out, braying to frighten them. When the lion had caught most of them, the ass came out and asked him whether he had not fought bravely and put the goats to flight. The lion replied, “You may be sure that I too would have been frightened of you, had I not known you were an ass.” So those who boast before people who know them rightly make themselves a laughingstock.
