Prevod

A snake made friends with a crab and shared a home with him. The crab, who was straightforward by nature, urged the snake to give up his cunning ways, but the snake would not listen at all. So the crab waited until the snake was asleep, seized him by the throat with his claw, and squeezed as hard as he could, killing him. When the snake lay stretched out straight after death, the crab said, “You should have been straight and honest like this before; then you would never have paid this penalty.” The fable shows that those who deal deceitfully with their friends do greater harm to themselves.
