Prevod
Kong Yu, courtesy name Jingkang, was a native of Shanyin in Kuaiji. During Emperor Yuan’s reign, he was made a marquis for his part in the campaign against Hua Yi. In his youth, while passing through Yubu Pavilion, he had come upon someone by the roadside with a turtle in a cage. He bought it and released it into Yinbu Stream. As the turtle swam into midstream, it turned its head to the left several times to look back. Later, when he was enfeoffed as Marquis of Yubu Pavilion for his services, his seal was cast with a turtle-shaped knob, but the turtle’s head faced left. The seal was cast three times, each with the same result. When the seal maker reported this, Kong Yu realized that it was the turtle’s way of repaying his kindness, and he accepted the seal and wore it. After successive promotions, he rose to Left Vice Director of the Department of State Affairs and was posthumously awarded the title General of Chariots and Cavalry.
