A flea once tormented a man terribly. At last he caught it and cried, “Who are you, to feast on every limb of mine, wearing me away for no reason at all?” The flea cried out, “Good sir, spare me! Do not kill me, for I can do no great harm.” But the man laughed and said to it, “You shall die this very moment by my own hands, for no evil, whether small or great, should be allowed to exist at all.” The wicked deserve no mercy, whether great or small.
