O viru
Fábulas literarias is a collection of original fables by Tomás de Iriarte, first published in 1782. Through animals, objects, and brief allegories, they explore literature, writing, and artistic judgment above all; they are not a record of anonymous oral tradition.
Kako smo pripravili besedila
The edition contains 76 numbered fables, but Fábulas XXII ( La Lechuza ) and XXIII ( Los Perros y el Trapero ) share a single moral commentary and a single poem. We therefore keep them together, giving the source a total of 75 reading units. The preface and the printer’s colophon are not stories.
