The collection prepared here contains six tales, I–VI, as only this part of the book includes the printed Irish text. Tales VII–XIV appear only in English in this edition, while the riddles in section XV are not folktales and have therefore not been imported. During further editing, the Irish OCR text from the same copy still needs to be checked against the facsimile.
The facsimile of the 1890 edition on Wikisource, marked with Public Domain Mark 1.0, was used. Hyde died in 1949. Waltey holds only the OCR text of the Irish-language pages of the first six tales and explicitly states that these do not cover all fourteen titles listed in the table of contents.
