Prevod

An ass carrying a load of salt was crossing a river when he slipped and fell into the water. The salt dissolved, and he rose with a lighter load. Delighted by this, he thought, when he later crossed a river laden with sponges, that if he fell again, he would get up with a lighter burden. So he deliberately let himself slip. But the sponges soaked up the water, and he could not get to his feet again and drowned there.

So too, some people fail to see that their own schemes are the cause of their misfortunes.
