A man kept a goat and a donkey. The goat, jealous of the donkey because he was given more food, said to him, “You are worked mercilessly, now grinding grain, now carrying loads.” She advised him to pretend to have a fit and fall into a pit, so that he might get some rest. The donkey believed her, but when he fell, he was badly injured. His master called a physician and asked him to help. The physician prescribed a draught made from a goat’s lung, saying that this would restore the donkey to health. So they slaughtered the goat and treated the donkey.

Whoever plots harm against another brings misfortune upon himself.
