Prevod
A pentathlete, constantly mocked by his fellow citizens for his lack of courage, once went abroad. When he returned some time later, he boasted of the many great feats he had performed in other cities, and claimed that in Rhodes he had made a leap no Olympic champion could match. He said he could produce as witnesses the men who had been there, if they ever came to town. But one of those present spoke up: “Well, my friend, if that is true, you have no need of witnesses. Here is Rhodes—make your leap here.”
The story shows that where a claim can readily be put to the test by deeds, all talk is needless.
