O viru
Cuentos de la selva para los niños is Quiroga’s 1918 collection of eight original animal tales. The author was born in Salto, Uruguay, and the collection was published in Buenos Aires, but its forest world is closely tied to Misiones, Argentina.

We have retained all eight titles and their order from the 1918 edition. The import uses the expanded text of the Wikisource pages rather than their empty transclusion commands; we have removed navigation, decorative initial images, and technical markup, but have not modernized the Spanish text.

The source is the corrected Wikisource transcription of the 1918 edition. Quiroga died in 1937, so the text is in the public domain; the Wikisource transcription is published under CC BY-SA 4.0. This is a literary work by a named author, not an anonymous field record.
